Your data
Privacy Policy
Last updated: [DD MONTH YYYY]
This policy explains how we collect and use your personal data when you use the Dateify website and connection service, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who is responsible
The controller for your personal data is:
WK Vertriebswerk LTD
Psematismenos 8, 7743 Larnaca, Cyprus
Email: [hello@dateify.eu]
For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at the email above.
2. What we collect
When you complete the offer form or contact us, we collect:
- Contact details: email address and phone number[, name].
- Your preferences for the service, such as [destination, rough travel dates, and any other quiz answers].
- Any message content you send us.
When you browse the site, we and our analytics/advertising tools automatically collect usage data such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and interactions, through cookies and similar technologies (see section 6).
3. Why we use it, and our legal basis
- Connect youTo introduce you to a suitable photographer and respond to your request — steps taken at your request prior to a contract, and our legitimate interest in operating the service (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).
- CommunicateTo answer enquiries and provide travel information and instructions — legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- MarketingTo send offers or follow-ups where permitted — your consent, or legitimate interest where the law allows (Art. 6(1)(a)/(f)).
- Analytics & adsTo measure and improve the site and run advertising — your consent via the cookie banner (Art. 6(1)(a)).
- LegalTo comply with legal obligations and defend legal claims (Art. 6(1)(c)/(f)).
4. Who we share your data with
Photographers. The core of our service is connecting you with an independent photographer. To do this we share your contact details and relevant preferences with that photographer so they can contact you and make an offer. These photographers are independent businesses and act as separate data controllers for how they use your data once received; their own privacy terms then apply. Because we operate in multiple countries, the photographer we connect you with may be located [inside or outside the EEA — see section 5].
Service providers (processors). We use trusted providers who process data on our behalf, including [website hosting, email/CRM, form tools, and the analytics/advertising providers named in section 6]. They may only use the data to provide their service to us.
We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose data where required by law or to protect our rights.
5. International transfers
Some recipients and tools are located outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States (for example the advertising and analytics providers in section 6), and the photographer we connect you with may be based anywhere we operate. Where data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on an appropriate safeguard such as an EU adequacy decision or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for more detail using the contact above.
6. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functions and, with your consent, for analytics and advertising. Non-essential tracking loads only after you accept it in our cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time. We currently use:
- Meta PixelAdvertising and measurement for Facebook / Instagram (Meta, US).
- Google[Google Analytics and/or Google Ads] — measurement and advertising (Google, US).
- PostHogProduct analytics to understand site usage (PostHog, hosted in [EU / US]).
These tools may set cookies and process usage data as independent or joint controllers under their own terms. [We use a consent banner ([name of tool]) to manage these choices.]
7. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and contact data for as long as needed to provide the service and for a reasonable period afterwards, then delete or anonymise it. As a guide, we retain offer-form and contact data for [e.g. 24 months] after your last contact, unless a longer period is required by law or to handle a dispute. Analytics data is kept for the period set by each tool.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data; to have it corrected or erased; to restrict or object to processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time (which does not affect processing already carried out). To exercise any of these, email us at [hello@dateify.eu].
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Cyprus this is the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection (dataprotection.gov.cy). You may also contact the authority in your own EU country of residence.
9. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure, but we work to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss or misuse.
10. Children
Our service is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published here, and we will update the "last updated" date above when we make changes.
